PUZZLE25

How To Play

Puzzle25 is meant to be a cryptic mystery played over the course of a few days or weeks. It can be a satisfying challenge to take on yourself, but consider playing it in tandem with several friends, it can help to bounce ideas off of each other and compete to make progress first. You can also access the Puzzle25 Discord to share ideas with other players, but please avoid spoiling the game for others.

After a brief intro, you will be presented with the tablet and the journal. Each step of Puzzle25 involves determining what combination of keys to press based on the prompts given.

Often, these puzzles will require consulting the Journal. This can be accessed via the button in the top left corner of the puzzle window. Please note, the journal rarely gives direct answers, you will often have to combine clues with other parts of the puzzle to distill answers.

After you think you've pressed the right combination of buttons, press the red button to check your answer. The order of button presses does not matter, only the final pattern submitted is counted. If you are correct, you will advance to the next puzzle, otherwise you will be prompted to return and try again.

Helpful Tips

  • If you feel stuck, walk away from the game for a few hours. You can find inspiration in the most unlikely places.
  • Keep the journal handy and get familiar with it. Almost every puzzle has some relevant text in the journal (Some are more helpful than others).
  • Don't be afraid to google things if you don't know what they are or want to learn more about them. You can put -Puzzle25 at the end of your search to reduce spoilers
  • If you're sure of your answer but the machine keeps telling you it's wrong, you may have the right solution but the wrong way of entering it.
  • There is a page in the journal that explains how to map numbers onto the alien device. This is a key detail for solving many of the puzzles.
